Here are two examples of how 80/20 Plants could look for two different goals:

First, meet Adam.

Adam started 80/20 Plants from a typical American diet filled with processed food, dairy, and meat. After just a month, Adam gradually swapped sugary cereals and eggs for a whole-food breakfast, processed snacks like pretzels and chips for nuts and fruit, and store-bought lunch subs for hearty salads and plant-based sandwiches he made at home.

That change alone (which affected nearly 80% of his diet) was enough for Adam to lose weight and have more energy than he’s ever had before. And it was also as far as Adam wanted to take the program. While he began making healthier choices by default, he tended to indulge when it came to dinner and was happy to have that flexibility.

Brittany, on the other hand, started 80/20 Plants having already been vegan for two years. Her problem?

Even though she thought she ate a whole-food heavy diet, when she really looked what she was eating, she found that processed carbohydrates, plant meats and cheeses, and vegan junk food make up a large portion of her diet.

We know that in order to be successful long term, you have to build a foundation. At 80/20 Plants, that foundation is built on breakfast. For the first part of the program, you’ll focus on eating whole-food, plant-based breakfasts, and anything else you like throughout the day.
